Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Ulrich Walter has been awarded the Eduard Rhein Foundation’s Ring of Honor for his outstanding achievements in the field of space science and his many years of communicating this to a wide audience. We are honoring him in particular for the fact that, as an astronaut and holder of the Chair of Space Technology at the Technical University of Munich, he has tirelessly put his qualifications and creative energy at the service of the idea of awakening a fascination for scientific and technical knowledge in society.
